Scarborough Pregnancy Crisis Centre is part of a national network of nearly 200 Centres affiliated to Careconfidential (more information at www.careconfidential.com). This service in Scarborough has been in operation since 1997 from St. Mary’s Parish House, currently open Mondays 3pm till 5pm and Wednesdays 12 till 2pm though appointments can be made out of opening hours.
Trained volunteers offer free and confidential: Non-directive counselling for anyone caught up in a crisis pregnancy, including a free pregnancy test if required. Post abortion support for those who have had a pregnancy termination and are experiencing emotional difficulties. Loan of baby equipment and clothes for anyone struggling to make ends meet, once baby is born and up to the age of 2.
